The Husk

When Charles, a young librarian, is tasked with cataloging the collection of his deceased grandfather, he is pulled into an abyss of family secrets from which there may be no escape. Will his increasingly unhinged letters to his sister bring him deliverance, or only drag her down with him?

A gothic ghost story written in epistolary format, The Husk was published in the November 2023 issue of The Crow’s Quill Magazine. The story can be found online here: The Crow’s Quill Magazine, November 2023. A physical copy can be purchased from the publisher here: The Crow’s Quill shop.

The Brightness of Grass

“Moments like this are seafoam on stone,
unrepeatable patterns glimmering in the sun for bare instants
before becoming one with the ever-moving surf.
And some things do end—
joinings of times and people that will never return,
unique in their own way as comets
only passing the Earth every million years.”
— from The Brightness of Grass

My debut poetry collection, The Brightness of Grass, was independently published in May 2024. In it, I shares reflections from my day-to-day life and travels, exploring the search for a place to call home amid wonder, love, and loss.
